Pastimers: the place for Nostalgia!

Dear Guest,

Welcome to the world of 'Pastimers' and thank you for dropping by. Here, you can read about and share all manner of experiences stretching back from the 1940s to the 1990s. We hope you will find like minded people amongst us who indulge in nostalgia and memories from times past, our past time.

Within the FORUM section you will find categories including:
Quizzes, Music, TV, Radio, Films, Fashion, Pets, Poetry, Photographs, Hobbies, Arts & Crafts, Toys, Recipes, Fun & Banter ... and a Twilight Zone for any unusual stories or happenings... There's plenty to talk about, as long as it is not too serious!

We hope you will register as a member and join in the fun. Once registered feel free to introduce yourself (only if you wish to of course) and tell us about your interests.

Pastimers (v.a.d) by Oldbat:

We sit in the chair thinking back in our past,
Our memory is one thing that does last,
School and your best friends,
Recalling those days never ends.

Our kids may listen to our tales then laugh, yet we are welcome here,
Pastimers how we can remember those days quite clear,
Music of the past,
Gets played today, how memories last.

Film or TV,
Bringing back such happy memories for you and me,
and looking at Photos of days gone past,
Ok the Kids may laugh but happy memories forever last.

Money that we had and once spent,
Can you recall just where it went?
Sweets in jars in the corner shop,
We are Pastimers and memories like these somehow never stop.

Take care of yourself my friend,
See you tomorrow for more memories of the days that won't for us end,
It's so lovely to remember our past,
Kids one day you too will have memories, but will they last?

  • Milady Raven: We actually have a clear night here, for once - with visible stars! But that's because it's rather cold out there. Winter is definitely not far away.

  • moondrops: The Dragon's Breath is rising off the river here in Hexham . . . thick fog at low levels obliterating the town other than the top of the abbey . . . it's REALLY cold and the sky is crystal clear above the 'breath' . . .

  • moondrops: It's chucking it down here . . . straight out the north east . . . my neighbour had left his car boot open, I dashed round a minute ago when the rain eased a tad to tell him so . . . the boot is drenched inside!

  • Milady Raven: And a bit of flooding on the road into Loanhead, about five miles away. Not a major thing - still driveable, with care.

  • Milady Raven: Coming down in big splashy, soggy lumps now. And nearly dark!
    September 13, 2017, 06:14:36 PM
  • Milady Raven: Dry here so far, but cold and very still. Heavy rain and strong winds forecast for later - but we may miss the worst of that, with luck.
